The famous medicinal Lithia waters are still sought after for health. The water is bottled and sold in health food stores as well as in restaurants. Austell has a pristine school system, both public and also contains a preparatory department to help students get into college. The city is also quite religious; from the beginnings of the city, residents have always been church goers. There are many faiths and the city itself has five churches.
