A “Night of Fun” Can Turn Deadly – Don’t Drink and Drive

Categories: Accident Victims

A 19-year old Georgia man is facing the worst days of his life in the aftermath of a car accident that left his 21-year- old passenger dead.

The 19-year old apparently lost control of his car in Talmo, Georgia, running off the road, through a fence and finally into a tree. Sadly, his passenger was killed, and the driver has been charged with DUI, having an open container of alcohol in the car, and vehicular homicide in the first degree.

The deceased passenger’s family is now left to bury their young son and decide whether or not to file a wrongful death lawsuit against the young driver who killed their son.

Drinking and driving kills. When it happens to the young people in our society, we all ache. No matter how many times you hear “Don’t Drink and Drive,” some people think it doesn’t apply to them. Sadly, people who have been drinking don’t always think rationally.

Even one death as the result of alcohol on the roadways is too many, and every year thousands are killed or seriously injured in Georgia due to drunk drivers.

If you are involved in an accident with a drunk driver and you are injured, you need an attorney to help you sort through the options available to you. Drunk drivers must be punished. The law takes care of that, but sometimes it is the victims who pay the ultimate price.
